Russ Hadick & Associates, named by Forbes as one of the top 100 recruiting firms in the country, has partnered with a Cincinnati-area client to fill their Controller position. This is a hands-on position, supporting the local management team and corporate requirements related to financial close, cost accounting, reporting, analysis, budgeting, forecasting, safeguarding assets, as well as supervising support staff.

Responsibilities:

  • Safeguard assets and assure accurate and timely recording of all transactions by implementing disciplines of internal audits, controls and checks across all departments
  • Manage the accuracy and productivity of day-to-day activities of accounts payable, cash disbursements, invoicing/billing, customer credits and collections, perpetual inventory integrity, fixed asset records, general & entity accounting, and cost accounting
  • Responsible for monthly close including preparing journal entries and account reconciliations, reviewing financial statements, ensuring accuracy and GAAP compliance and preparing management and operational reports
  • Interact with peer controllers and corporate staff to share ideas and develop best practices across the organization
  • Develop, improve and issue timely monthly, quarterly and annual financial records for CFO, GM and Corporate
  • Assure financial plans are consistent with organizational goals and participate in establishing goals through strategic and operating plans
  • Provide financial analysis tools to evaluate company ventures or special projects, programs, capital expenditures, products costing, etc. when necessary
  • Interface with outside audit firms(s), banks, casualty/liability insurance agent(s), credit card companies, and collection agencies

 

Qualification Requirements:

  • Broad financial knowledge of payroll, GL, taxes, etc.
  • Knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), Financial Accounting Standards (FAS) and Sarbanes Oxley (SOX) regulations
  • Self-starter with strong initiative and excellent communications skills required in a fast-paced environment
  • Proficient use of Microsoft Office Suite required (especially Excel)
  • Strong mathematical skills required
  • Strong attention to detail required
  • High level of confidentiality required
  • Knowledge of an integrated ERP system is a plus
  • Must be a US person (US Citizen or Permanent Resident/Green Card Holder)
  • Broad general knowledge of all accounting/financial areas
  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting required
  • Minimum of 6 years of previous accounting/financial experience with progressive responsibility
  • Experience within a manufacturing environment strongly preferred
  • Experience with Integrated ERP system preferred
  • Experience with Government Contracts preferred
  • Deep Excel knowledge is preferred
